Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata on December 29, 2025, commencing a crucial three-day visit that effectively launched the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) preparations for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. Upon landing at Dum Dum Airport, he was welcomed by state president Samik Bhattacharya and Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, before heading straight to the party's Salt Lake office for intensive organizational reviews.  Over the next days, Shah chaired
