Asian Games 2023: India Men's & Women's Teams Get Direct Entries Into Quarterfinals
For the first time since 2014, cricket has been included in the Asian Games. The women's event will comprise 14 teams while the men's event will have 18 outfits.
Asian Games 2023 team India Schedule: Indian men's and women's cricket teams have got a direct entry into the quarter-finals. As per ICC T20I team rankings, top four teams in the region - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh - have been awarded direct quarter-final berths. India's men's team will play their quarterfinal match on October 5, while 'Harmanpreet Kaur-less' women's teams will play their quarterfinal match on 19th September. All matches will have official T20I status. BCCI will send a second-string squad for men's event while a full-strength squad will participate in the women's event.

According to PTI, if Indian men's cricket team wins in the quarterfinals, they will play the semi-final match on October 6. After this, the final match will be played on 7th October, which will be for the Asian Games 2023 gold medal in men's cricket. India men's teams will play matches for 3 back-to-back days without any break if they make it to the final. However, official information regarding India's schedule in Asian Games 2023 has not been given out yet.
A total number of 14 teams are set to participate in women's cricket in Asian Games 2023. India women's team will play their quarter-final match on September 22. If they win that match, they will play the semi-final on September 25. On September 26, the match for gold and bronze medals will be played.
