India defeated New Zealand in the last group-stage match of the tournament to finish on top of the Group A points table and set up their clash with Australia.
Rohit Sharma-led Team India came into the semifinal undefeated as they tasted victory in all three group-stage matches. They defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in their tournament opener before making light work of arch-rivals Pakistan in their second match as they defeated the Mohammed Rizwan-led team also by six wickets. India then capped off the group-stage phase with a 44-run victory over in-form New Zealand.
Australia, on the other hand, pulled off the highest successful run-chase in the Champions Trophy history as they defeated England by five wickets in their tournament-opener. However, their next two matches yielded no result.

By 4:30 PM IST (3:00 PM local time), cloud cover is predicted to rise to 66%, though there is no chance of rain.
At 6:30 PM IST (5:00 PM local time), cloud cover is expected to increase further to 76%, with hazy sunshine.
By 9:30 PM IST (8:00 PM local time), the temperature is likely to drop to 25°C with 42% humidity and 50% cloud cover, but rain remains unlikely, bringing relief to fans.
