Looks like Salman Khan and Allu Arjun had become top contenders for 'Jawan' director Atlee Kumar' next two-hero period film. It is now being reported that two prominent stars, one from the Tamil film industry, the other from the Telugu film industry would collaborate on the pan-India film. And, as of now, Allu Arjun from the Telugu film industry is said to be a confirmed lead in the Atlee film.

Interestingly, there have been several reports about Atlee partnering with Salman Khan on his upcoming project. However, now with Allu Arjun being signed and confirmed, it seems that Salman will no longer be a part of the major period film. A Peeping Moon report quoted a source close to the development who said, "Although the paperwork is still pending, the ‘Pushpa 2’ star has principally greenlighted the project and will most likely commence working on it as his immediate next. Shooting timelines and other logistical aspects are being worked out, but Atlee is looking to kick off pre-production by April-May."
Sun Pictures production
The Allu-Atlee film will be produced by Sun Pictures, which has in the past worked on films like 'Sarkar', 'Beast', 'Jailer' and 'Enthiran'. Their upcoming production involves Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj starrer 'Coolie'. As per the same report, the estimated budget of the big pan-India film is said to be over Rs. 600cr, making it one of the most expensive Indian film productions to date.
Peeping Moon also reported that the yet-untitled Atlee-Allu film is the same film that Salman Khan was earlier associated with. However, it is due to Sun Pictures' reluctance to invest in a Salman-led venture that the film went to Allu, who had been Atlee and the production house' first choice since the project began.
There were also reports of Hollywood star Will Smith being the second hero in the film, but as per the same report, compensation and negotiations became an issue.

As per reports, the Allu-Atlee film has now been fast-tracked dur to delays in the actor's other films with Trivikram Srinivas. Srinivas' film, which happens to be a mythological epis, requires a lot of pre-production work and has been pushed to 2026 thus prioritizing Atlee's film.
