The government announced an outlay of Rs 1,65,000 crore for Chhattisgarh in the latest Budget, up by 12 per cent from the overall expenditure of Rs 1,47,446 crore announced for the 2024-25 Budget.

Chhattisgarh Government unveiled the Budget for 2025-26 on March 3. Based on the theme of ‘GYAN ke Liye GATI’, the financial document outlined the pathway for the state’s progress ahead. GYAN stands for Gareeb (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmer), and Nari (women), while GATI represents Good Governance, Accelerating Infrastructure, Technology, and Industrial Growth.
The state government said that the Budget will focus on inclusive development, social welfare, and infrastructure growth in the region. Major Highlights Of Budget
- One of the major highlights of the Budget was the allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for the Krishak Unnati Yojana, targeted at boosting the agricultural prosperity in the state.
- The Budget also set aside Rs 8,500 crore to boost rural housing through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
- Additionally, the major announcements included an allocation of Rs 5,500 crore for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Rs 4,500 crore for the Mukhyamantri Khadyan Sahayata Yojana.
- The Budget set aside Rs. 3,500 Crore for free electricity supply for up to 5 HP Agricultural Pumps.
- The government announced the allocation of Rs 1,500 crore for Aayushman Yojana and Rs 875 crore for construction of houses in Urban Areas under Sabke Liye Awas Yojana.
- The state govt also allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the construction of new roads by the Public Works Department (PWD) and set aside Rs 845 crore for building roads in villages under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
- The Budget announced the Mukhyamantri Mobile Tower Scheme with an aim to provide mobile tower connectivity in remote areas.
- Finance Minister O P Choudhary announced that 500 new co-operative societies will be formed in the state, and allocated Rs 500 crore for Mukhyamantri Nagarotthan Yojana for DPR based development of municipal corporations.
- The Budget also announced that the National Institute of Fashion Technology would be set up in the state.
