IPL 2021 Orange Cap race: Punjab Kings failed to make it to the playoffs but KL Rahul tops the Orange Cap list with 626 runs from 13 IPL games. CSK's Faf du Plessis hold the second spot with 546 runs.

New Delhi: The outcome of two matches played on Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Phase 2 has set the picture clear of the teams making it to the playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders became the fourth team to reach the playoffs of IPL 14.

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi in a last-ball thrilling match. Despite this defeat, Delhi are on the top of points table and RCB are at number three in IPL 14 points table. Chennai Super Kings are at number two. KKR is at number four after beating Rajasthan on Thursday.

Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 42 runs on Friday. They won hearts with a spirited performance but failed to make it to the playoffs. Punjab Kings are at number six in the points table and Rajasthan Royals at number seven. Sunrisers Hyderabad end a disappointing IPL campaign with a defeat as they finish at the bottom of the points table with just 6 points. All the matches in the group stage ended yesterday.

At the third spot is Delhi Capitals' senior opener Shikhar Dhawan with 544 runs followed by CSK's Rituraj Gaikwad (533 runs) and RCB's Glenn Maxwell (498 runs)

IPL 2021 Purple Cap race: With 30 wickets from 14 IPL games, RCB's Harshal Patel tops the Purple Cap list, followed by Delhi Capitals' Avesh Khan at second spot with 22 wickets. Mumbai Indians' Jasprit Bumrah is at third position with 21 wickets, followed by Punjab Kings' Mohammed Shami with 19 wickets and Sunrisers Hyderabad's Rashid Khan (18 wickets).
