British GP 2023 Upgrades: Who Has Brought What To Silverstone?
British GP 2023 Upgrades: The teams have targets set for the weekend and there are several teams that have brought upgrades for the race.
The Formula 1 circus returns back to it home, the haloed tarmac of the Silverstone Circuit, for the British Grand Prix. The teams have targets set for the weekend and there are several teams that have brought upgrades for the race.
Mercedes AMG F1
Mercedes brought in various major upgrades at the previous round in Austria, but these did not seem to work well. The race viewers had to bear a 7-time World Champion whining about his car throughout the race. This dragged on for so long, that a tall Austrian had to step in to shut our man up with quote, “Lewis the car is bad, we know, please drive it.” Ouch!
To stop this from repeating in British GP, and also to save Bono and Toto’s sanity, Mercedes will be upgrading the W14 with a new front wing. Toto Woolf described this upgrade as a “big one”. It is to be seen whether the new front wing can save the Mercedes F1 team and Lewis Hamilton for all the recent misery.

AlphaTauri F1
AlphaTauri’s current performance has been nothing more than embarrassing. Considering they are the sister team to Red Bull racing, currently the best team on the grid, them struggling on the back of the grid is not justified. It is straight up disappointing. The team’s case is not helped by the subpar performance of their drivers either. Both drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck De Vries, have been struggling to even score points this season. The star rookie De Vries, who is responsible for forcing Lord Latifi out of a drive, has been struggling with the AT04. The Dutch are at the bottom of the drivers’ standings without a single point to his name.
To deal with its struggles, AlphaTauri will be introducing a new floor during the British Grand Prix weekend, which will be aimed at improving their biggest weakness, late-entry instability. Team engineer Jonathan Eddolls describes the British Grand Prix floor upgrade as “a more significant step” that the team hopes should make it more competitive.
An opportunity for Nyck De Vries to score his first points of the season, could be.
Alfa Romeo Sauber
After a challenging weekend at the Red Bull Ring, the Swiss team with Italian branding had the slowest vehicle on outright pace in Austria and slid to the slowest on average pace over the season. With improvements coming for the British GP at Silverstone, the team hopes to improve the cars pace.
Motorsports news outlet The Race reported on the upgrades, “will include floor modifications and it’s hoped that it will build on the progress made with the major upgrade package introduced in Monaco”.
In addition, Alpine and Williams are bringing upgrades to their cars but the details are under wraps. However, whatever changes and upgrades Williams have worked on showed positive results for Alexander Albon in FP1 & FP2, with the Anglo-Thai driver finishing both sessions in a surprising P3.
