BCCI plans mini-IPL in September: Sources

Dharamshala: There is a good news for Indian Premier League (IPL) fans as the BCCI is planning to organise a mini-IPL in September with all the eight franchisees participating in it. According to the sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is in the middle of its first conclave in Dharamshala, discussed the possibility of staging a tournament to replace the now-scrapped Champions League T20. The tournament will be organized in September as there is a small window available. The tournament will be held outside India, however, the venue is not yet finalized. The sources said USA is the frontrunner. The blue print of the Mini-IPL is ready and the BCCI might give it a go ahead during its meeting on Friday. There was a plan to host Mini-IPL last year as well but the organizers couldn’t do so owing to several legal and internal battles.
