Ashes 2017: England to seek revenge in Adelaide

Adelaide [Australia], Dec 1 (ANI): Involved in continuous sledging after Jonny Bairstow's head-butting controversy, Ashes rival England and Australia will take the war of words to the real fight when they face each other in the second Test here at the Adelaide Oval.

In the first day-night Test in Ashes history, England will aim to seek revenge for the embarrassing ten-wicket defeat in the opening Ashes Test at the Gabba.

However, England have a low experience with the pink Kookaburra as they have played only West Indies earlier this year in their only international pink ball match to date.

Australia on the other side have a good record, having played three day-night Tests, two of which have been in Adelaide, and winning all three.

Still, the visitors have chances to exploit the Australian top order.

Australian opener David Warner's pink-ball record is poor as he has never managed more than 50 in any of his matches.

Even the world's best batsman and skipper Steve Smith averages 59.83 in day-night Tests.

However, Peter Handscomb has an average of 97.5 in his two day-night Tests.

But if England wish to leave the Adelaide with a happy laugh, they have no other option then to make use of bowlers like James Anderson and Stuart Broad.

Also, James Vince and Mark Stoneman need to replicate their first Ashes Test form.
