Ram Navami 2025: Ram Navami, celebrated annually on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Chaitra, marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. As per Hindu beliefs, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Ram, the seventh avatar, in the Treta Yuga to vanquish demons and eliminate negative forces from the world. He was born to Queen Kaushalya, wife of King Dasharatha, in Ayodhya.

When Is Ram Navami In 2025?

According to the Hindu Panchang, Ram Navami will be observed on April 6, 2025. This day will also mark the conclusion of Chaitra Navratri. The most auspicious time for performing Ram Navami puja and rituals is during the Madhyahna period (midday), as it is believed that Lord Ram was born at this time. Devotees believe that chanting Lord Ram’s name and performing his puja bring prosperity and happiness to their households.

Ram Navami Puja Muhurat 2025:

  • Navami Tithi begins: April 5, 2025, at 7:26 PM
  • Navami Tithi ends: April 6, 2025, at 7:22 PM
  • Madhyahna Muhurat: 11:08 AM to 1:39 PM
  • Most auspicious time for puja and Abhishek: 12:34 PM

How Is Ram Navami Celebrated?

  • Devotees recite the Ramayana and perform Ram Darbar puja.
  • Special Abhishek (ritualistic bathing) of Lord Ram’s idol is conducted at noon.
  • Recitation of Ram Raksha Stotra and bhajan-kirtans take place.
  • Lord Ram’s idol is placed in a decorated cradle and worshipped.
  • Temples are adorned with flowers, and grand processions are organized.

Ram Navami Puja Vidhi:

  • Wake up early, take a bath, and offer water to the Sun while taking a vow to observe the vrat (fast).
  • Clean the puja area thoroughly and decorate it.
  • At 12:00 PM, perform the Abhishek of Lord Ram’s idol using Gangajal, Panchamrit, and water. Tulsi leaves and lotus flowers are essential for the puja.
  • Conduct the Shodashopachara Puja (16-step worship ritual).
  • Offer kheer, fruits, and traditional sweets as bhog to Lord Ram.
  • Recite the Ram Raksha Stotra, Sundarakand, or Ramayana.
  • Conclude the puja by performing aarti and distributing prasad among devotees.
