The first Ekadashi of the new year will be Pausha Putrada Ekadashi, observed on 10th January 2025. It is believed that those who observe the Ekadashi fast experience happiness, peace, prosperity, and the blessings of Lord Vishnu.

Pausha month's Shukla Paksha Putrada Ekadashi will begin on 9th January 2025 at 12:22 PM and end on 10th January 2025 at 10:19 AM. 

  • Puja Muhurat: 8:34 AM to 11:10 AM

Paush Putrada Ekadashi 2025 Vrat Parana Time

The Pausha Putrada Ekadashi fast will be broken on 11th January 2025 between 7:15 AM and 8:21 AM. The Dwadashi Tithi will end at 8:21 AM on the same day.

How To Observe Ekadashi Fast

On Ekadashi, the tradition is to observe a waterless fast. However, if unable to keep a waterless fast, one can have a fruit-based diet. Consuming milk with fruits is also allowed.

Why Is Pausha Putrada Ekadashi Fast Observed?

The Ekadashi fast is dedicated to Goddess Ekadashi, whose appearance also occurred on the Ekadashi date. Lord Vishnu named her Ekadashi and blessed her, stating that anyone who observes the fast on this day and worships Lord Vishnu will be freed from sins and attain the highest realms.
