Who Is Lord Parshuram?

Lord Parshuram was the son of Sage Jamadagni and Mata Renuka, and he is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Though his parents named him Ram, he received the weapon "Parshu" from Lord Shiva, which is how he came to be known as Parshuram. His guru was Lord Shiva himself, and he is also considered the teacher of Vishwamitra and Rishi Ruchik. Bhishma, Dronacharya, and Karna were his disciples.

Why Is Lord Parshuram Not Worshipped?

Lord Parshuram was born into a Brahmin family, but his behavior was more like that of a Kshatriya. He is said to have rid the earth of Kshatriyas 21 times. His anger was so intense that even Lord Ganesha couldn't escape it. Due to his fierce nature, instead of worship, Lord Parshuram is invoked.

According to scriptures, it is difficult for an ordinary person to control excessive energy, and as Lord Parshuram is an intense incarnation of Lord Vishnu, worshipping him results in immense energy. This is why householders or people leading a normal life do not worship him.

Only These People Worship Lord Parshuram

Lord Parshuram is a symbol of strength and valor. Therefore, individuals who are accomplished in yoga and meditation or those who perform daring tasks still invoke Lord Parshuram today. Worshiping Lord Parshuram increases courage and frees one from all kinds of fear.
