Bada Mangal 2025: Bada Mangal, also known as Budhwa Mangal, is observed on all Tuesdays of the Hindu month of Jyeshtha and holds great religious and spiritual significance, especially in northern India. Devotees believe that worshipping Lord Hanuman on these days removes inauspiciousness and brings blessings.

According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that feeding the needy and donating on Bada Mangal brings immense spiritual merit. This festival is celebrated with grandeur, particularly in the Purvanchal and central regions of Uttar Pradesh. Community feasts (bhandaras) are a major part of the observance.

Why Is Bada Mangal Celebrated?

As per ancient legends, Lord Hanuman met Lord Rama for the first time on a Tuesday in the month of Jyeshtha during the Treta Yuga. Since then, this day has been considered highly auspicious. On Bada Mangal, devotees worship Hanuman in his elderly (budhwa) form, which is believed to relieve them from pain and hardship.

The Spirit Of Giving On Bada Mangal:

Charity plays a significant role in the Bada Mangal celebrations. Donating items made of clay such as earthen pots, pitchers, and water containers is considered especially auspicious. According to Vedic astrology, Mars (Mangal) is a fiery planet. Offering cool items on this day is said to balance Mars’s effects and reduce Manglik dosha, bringing peace and prosperity.
