World Cup 2019: Rohit Sharma slams 4th century, set four major records

Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma showered sixes and fours at Edgbaston on Tuesday as he took the field against Bangladesh

Soon after bringing up his century, Rohit was dimissed by Soumya Sarkar in the 30th over

The 32-year-old also became the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to breach the 500-run barrier in a World Cup. Tendulkar had amassed 500 plus runs in the 1996 and 2003 edition

Rohit stitched a 180-run opening stand with KL Rahul which is also the first-wicket stand in the ongoing World Cup

With his 4th World Cup ton, Rohit equalled Sangakkara’s record of most centuries in a single edition of ICC World Cup

The HITMAN also became the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 544 runs in his name

Rohit went past David Warner (519) and Aaron Finch (504) to reach this feat

Batting first, Rohit slammed 7 boundaries and 7 maximums to notch up his 4th ton in the ongoing World Cup

It was also his 26th century in ODIs which took him past AB de Villiers (25), Chris Gayle (25) and Kumara Sangakkara (25)

During his outing against Bangladesh, Rohit also garnered 500 runs in the tournament
