Cyclone Biporjoy is likely to make landfall between the Kutch district of Gujarat and Karachi in Pakistan on June 15 and its effects are already being witnessed in coastal regions of Gujarat and Maharashtra. High waves crashing against the beachline are also expected to be witnessed in Porbandar. A car was crushed under an uprooted tree following strong winds owing to Biporjoy cyclone in Thane on Monday. NDRF said they have deployed two teams in addition to the already available three teams in Mumbai as a precautionary measure in view of cyclone Biporjoy. NDRF officials have also moved 4 other teams to Gujarat and some teams have also been sent to Pune. (Source: PTI)
