1. Combining Hot and Cold Water - A common practice that most of us are guilty of, is heating water and combining some cold water to balance its temperature. This practice comes in the category of incompatible foods. This is because it disrupts the pitta dosha causing ‘Ama’ or toxins, leading to indigestion, bloating, and blockage of blood vessels. 3. Consuming Fruit Platters- It is a common sight to see people consuming fruit platters- a combination of fruits, especially first thing in the morning. Here is why this is a problem. As per Ashtanga Hridaya and Bhojanak Kuthuhala, consuming two or more incompatible combinations of fruits together can lead to digestive discomfort and health issues. Fruits should Ideally be consumed standalone, but if paired together, ensure that the pairings are compatible. (Image Source: Getty)

4. Salt that people generally use is created by heating up sea salt with crude oil extract at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. When salt is heated up to this temperature it loses approximately 80 important minerals. This erodes the naturally present iodine in it, affecting the functioning of the thyroid gland, and leading to metabolic issues. To compensate for this, synthetic iodine is added to the natural salt by many manufacturers which is unhealthy. Salt found in its natural form is not white. Table salt is usually coloured with bleach to make it white. This puts extra pressure on the kidneys to get rid of them. Further, Aluminium hydroxide is usually added to the salt to make it free-flowing. This has been linked to Alzheimer's disease, swelling, liver problems, heart disease, hypertension, etc. (Image Source: Getty)
