Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Sports Car — First Look

Porsche is known for its sports car range but cars like the 911 GT3 have cemented this brand as a maker of fast and thrilling sports cars for the road but also for use on the track.

The mid-engine sports car only weighs 1,415 kg as its kerb weight while the engine is the star of the show with a naturally aspirated flat-six engine, similar to the one on the 911 GT3 while making an extra 80PS over the GT4 along with a weight-to-power ratio of 2.83 kg/PS. Some of the performance enhancing elements are also tied to the aerodynamics with the process air intakes behind the driver and passenger windows while getting carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) for components like the bonnet and front wings. (Image Source: Clinton Pereira)

Further weight saving measures include lightweight carpets, rear window made from lightweight glass and lightweight door panels. Design wise, you can see the fixed rear wing which marks it out as the fastest version of the Cayman. (Image Source: Clinton Pereira)

Then it is also having a 30-millimetre-lower ride height when compared to the 718 Cayman plus you can see the vents on the front wheel arches, the underbody being tuned for better aerodynamics, the multi-adjustable front diffuser and the new front spoiler lip with flow-around side blades. This Porsche in the real world, looks more exotic than the Cayman and is similar to the 911 GT3 in terms of design or even the stripped out cabin.
