Minutes Into 9/11 Anniversary, Rocket Blast Jolts US Embassy In Kabul

New Delhi: Minutes into the anniversary of the Al-Qaeda-led 9/11 terror attack in the United States, a rocket exploded at the US embassy compound in Afghan capital Kabul. The attack is the first major one to come after US cancelled peace talks with the outfit. As per officials, the compound was declared all clear about an hour later and no injuries were reported, the Associated Press reported. The attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least 10 billion dollar in infrastructure and property damage America then led a ‘war against terrorism’ and invaded Afghanistan to topple the Taliban , which had provided ambush to the Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. US troops in Afghanistan reduced after Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan in 2011. About 14,000 US troops remain in Afghanistan.
