West Bengal Heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari To Join BJP Or Form Third Front After Quitting Mamata Cabinet?
Several media reports have quoted TMC sources claiming that doors are left open for talks with Suvendu however the rebel leader has maintained tight- lipped over his next move.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and West Bengal transport, irrigation and waterways minister Suvendu Adhikari's resignation from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led state cabinet has given the party a mega jolt ahead of State Assembly Elections, which are expected to happen in April-May next year. Adhikar quit his cabinet seat a day after resigning as the Chairman of the Hooghly River Bridge Commission (HRBC). As per reports, the rebel TMC leader sent his resignation letter to Banerjee on Friday morning.
A day after resigning from the cabinet, the dissident leader reportedly told his supporting MLA to be ready to hit the streets. Several media reports have quoted TMC sources claiming that doors are left open for talks with Suvendu however the rebel leader has maintained tight- lipped over his next move.
With high-voltage West Bengal elections barely a few months away, it is yet to be seen if the heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari will team up with the Bharatiya Janata Party or form his own third front in the state to challenge Mamata Banerjee.
Over the past few months, political stand of the Trinamool heavyweight from East Midnapore became talk of the town and party insiders said that Adhikari had developed distance with the Trinamool supremo.

Sources close to, Adhikari said he is unhappy with the organisational rejig effected a few months ago. They said he was not comfortable with the idea of scrapping the post of the district observer as he was party's in-charge in various districts.
