Viral Sach: Did women’s Kabbadi team have to wait on road with World Cup trophy?

New Delhi: A picture is going viral that says India’s women ‘Kabaddi’ team was standing with World Cup trophy and winners’ cheque on the road. The post says that nobody came to receive them. Here is the reality. The post was sent to us by ABP News viewer Rahul Gauri. When we investigated the picture, we found that the picture was taken in the year 2011. India defeated Britain in ‘Kabaddi’ World Cup in Ludhiana. The women team were waiting for auto-rickshaw. There was no arrangement of transportation to the players. Not only this, team management had not paid hotel bill. The players had to extend their stay for two hours as team management had no money to pay Rs 22,000 bill. Players said that they had to live in just a change of clothes as their luggage got burnt in a bus accident. Management didn’t even provide clothes to them. In ABP News investigation, this picture turns out to be true.
