A Saudia Airlines cargo flight made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport after the pilot reported that a windshield cracked mid-air. The aircraft landed safely at Kolkata airport at 12:02 pm, airport officials said as reported by news agency ANI.

In a similar incident earlier this month, a Varanasi-bound IndiGo Flight (6E897) from Bengaluru having 137 passengers onboard made an emergency landing at Shamshabad Airport in Telangana. ANI reported citing DGCA that the landing was made at 6.15 am after the plane encountered a technical problem.

On April 3, one of the engine blades of an Air India plane was damaged when it landed in Kolkata, perhaps due to a bird strike, according to authorities, news agency PTI reported. They claimed a blade on the right engine of the Airbus A320, which landed here from Mumbai, was bent during checks after boarding was completed for its return flight.

According to reports, Air India flight AI675 arrived in Kolkata about 8.20 a.m. after taking off from Mumbai at 6.16 a.m. A total of 119 people boarded the plane (AI676) from Kolkata for the return flight to Mumbai. There were also six cabin staff members on the plane, which was about to take off when the damage was discovered.

In a series of flight-related incidents, one happened on April 1 when a full emergency was declared at the Delhi airport after Dubai-bound FedEx aircraft suffered a bird hit soon after take-off, an airport official said.  Flight no. FX5279 was forced to make an emergency landing after being hit by a bird shortly after takeoff. FedEx operates Dubai-bound aircraft.

"Dubai FedEx flight was involved in air turnback due to a suspected bird hit at 1000 ft today. Delhi airport (DIAL) declared an emergency. Aircraft landed back safely. After inspection, it has been released for flight," the DGCA stated later in the day.
