Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Sold Out In 178 Seconds

Royal Enfield has sold out all 250 units of the limited-edition Classic 500 Pegasus earmarked for the country. In the process, it set a new sales record too. All 250 units were sold in a record 178 seconds through the company’s official website at 4PM on July 25. Initially, the online sale was scheduled to be held on July 10. However, its website crashed due to the overwhelming response the company received. Priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Classic 500 Pegasus is one of the most expensive motorcycles to come out of RE’s stables.

Inspired by the company’s legendary ‘Flying Flea’ lightweight motorcycles that were airdropped beyond enemy lines to relay messages and transport supplies, the Classic 500 Pegasus is limited to just 1000 units worldwide. However, underneath the heritage paint job, classic logos and a couple of accessories, the motorcycle is identical to the Classic 500 in every way possible. Although it is available in two shades overseas - Service Brown and Olive Drab Green, only the former was sold in the country as the Olive Green paint scheme is reserved for the armed forces.
