Rohit Sharma to lead Indian squad for Asia Cup

Delhi [India], September 1 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018, to be played in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian side as Virat Kohli has been given break after a straining England tour.

Addressing the media, BCCI chief selector, MSK Prasad said, "Considering the workload we have given Virat Kohli rest. He has been playing continuously for quite some time. The tournament, which features Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan and a qualifier will kick off on September 15 with Bangladesh facing Sri Lanka. India will play their opening game on September 18. The much-awaited India versus Pakistan playoff would take place on September 19.
