Jharkhand: Six Electrocuted At Dhanbad Railway Station Crossing During Pole Installation

The incident took place while an overhead electric pole was being installed at Nichitpur railway crossing under Dhanbad division

Six people were reported dead after being electrocuted at Nichitpur railway crossing under Dhanbad division of Eastern Central Railway, said the railway officials. The incident took place while an overhead electric pole was being installed, the officials added, as per a report by news agency ANI.

Last week, a 13-year-old girl died after receiving an electric shock from a high-tension power transmission cable while playing at her residence in Karnataka’s Belagavi.

The deceased was identified as Madhura More, a resident of Machche village. According to police, she got electrocuted from the high-tension wire installed just opposite to her residence. While playing she accidentally touched it, reported IANS.

Meanwhile, the authorities at Hubballi Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM)  claimed that they had served a notice to the girl's father not to build the house on the site. But, the family ignored the notice and warning of danger.

The Belagavi Rural police visited the spot and took up the  investigation. The body was handed over to the parents after post-mortem.

Last year on December 31, a 10-year-old boy lost his memory and was severely injured after being electrocuted in Milapura village of Karatagi taluk in Koppal district of Karnataka.

A contractor, identified as Mahadevappa, was booked in connection with the case. The boy, Veeresh was electrocuted while playing as the police stated that the electric wires were strewn all over the playground, as per another IANS report.
