'Will fully cooperate in probe' says rape accused self-styled godman Daati Maharaj
"The woman disciple has alleged that she was sexually assaulted inside Shani Dham two years ago. Because of fear and social stigma, the victim did not file a complaint earlier."
New Delhi: Self-styled godman Daati Maharaj, who has rape charges against him for allegedly ‘sexually assaulting’ his own follower on Thursday said that he will fully cooperate in the probe.
“I will fully cooperate in the investigation" he said in an exclusive interview with ABP News. He also said that 'this a conspiracy against me'.
Maharaj further added saying, "I have always been in favour of beti bachao beti padhao". He also asserted that I educate girls who have no parents and am a father to crores of girls.
He also claimed that he sponsored her education as well, saying her father had left her and her brother with him and he made the complainant enroll in a B(CA) programme; and thereafter he further said that I also made her do an M(CA). The rape case was registered against Daati Maharaj in the national capital on Monday. According to news agency ANI, the case was registered under sections of IPC 376, 377, 354 & 34. Reports said, "The disciple has alleged that she was sexually assaulted inside Shani Dham two years ago. Because of fear and social stigma, the victim did not file a complaint earlier." The self-styled godman has a huge following in Delhi-NCR an other parts of North India. He has his registered office in Fatehpur Beri in Delhi's Mehrauli locality.I have always respected women and can't do anything like this. The girl is like my daughter. I sponsored her education.
