Viral Sach: Did people attack CM Yogi Adityanath's cavalcade in UP?

NEW DELHI: A video showing a group of people disrupting the movement of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath's cavalcade by squatting on the road has gone viral on social media. It's claimed that people of Uttar Pradesh are unhappy with Adityanath therefore they 'attacked' his cavalcade. In the clip, Black Cat commandos of the NSG can be seen guarding a silver color vehicle, claimed to be of Adityanath, from protesters who are raising slogans against the chief minister. Slogans like 'Yogi sarkar murdabad' and 'tanashahi nahi chalegi' can also be heard. Fact check: Activists of the students' wing of the Samajwadi Party showed black flags to Yogi Adityanath over an event on Chhatrapati Shivaji at the Lucknow University on June 7. As the chief minister's cavalcade was proceeding towards the university, where Adityanath was invited as the chief guest of a programme on the Maratha warrior king, the activists of the Samajwadi Party Chatra Sabha disrupted its movement by squatting on the road and showing black flags. The police had a tough time controlling the protesters, who raised slogans against the chief minister and Governor Ram Naik, who is also the Chancellor of the university, and the district administration. The protesters alleged that a "BJP event" was being held at the university at the expense of the institution and the students. Eight of these students have also been suspended by the Lucknow University on charge of breaching security of the chief minister's convoy.
