UP: Minor girl found dead after gang rape

Budaun (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 23 (ANI): A minor girl who had alleged gang rape by three men inside a government school premise two days back in Budaun city, was found dead on Thursday.

The victim's mother told ANI that her daughter had committed suicide by hanging herself at home. "My daughter hanged herself as she was ashamed. Also, she was threatened that her brothers would be harmed," she said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police, Budaun, Ashok Kumar while addressing the media said, "Rape complaint was filed on August 21. Victim's medical examination was done. Investigation in the case is underway. Today, we got information that the girl has been found dead. Postmortem report is awaited."

The incident came to light when the girl shared her ordeal with family. The police had registered an FIR after the family lodged a complaint.

According to media reports, the family of the victim had alleged that three men had abducted the minor at gunpoint on Monday night when she had stepped out of the house to urinate in the open. The accused took her to a government-run school and raped her. She was found unconscious there. (ANI)
