Ujjain: Mahakal Temple Reopens From Today For Devotees, Know Guidelines

After being closed for 80 days, the world-famous Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh reopened today. Keeping in mind the coronavirus infection, entry was closed for people from April 9. Now 3500 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple daily from 6 am to 8 pm.

Ujjain: The famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh has opened again for devotees from today. The temple was closed from April 9 this year due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in the state. Due to the pandemic that started last year, the temple had to be closed for the second time.

The temple re-opened for devotees from 6 am onwards today. However, entry is not allowed in the sanctum sanctorum and Nandi hall of the temple. Devotees will have to book a slot online for the darshan. Those who have received at least one jab of Covid-19 vaccine and who can produce a certificate of the same or those who carry a negative RT-PCR report of corona issued 48 hours prior are allowed an entry into the temple. Devotees must show the vaccination certificate while entering the temple.

Devotees will be allowed every day from 6 am to 8 pm

Every day from 6 am to 8 pm, 3,500 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple. in 7 slots of 2 hours each. 500 people will be allowed to enter the temple in each slot. Before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, about 20 thousand people used to visit the temple every day. Let us tell you that the Mahakaleshwar temple, located in the religious city of Ujjain, about 175 km from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in the country.
