In a significant escalation of anti-espionage operations, Indian authorities have arrested several individuals in recent days for allegedly leaking sensitive military information to Pakistan. The latest arrest occurred on Monday in Nuh, Haryana, where a suspect was apprehended for allegedly passing classified details to Pakistani handlers, marking the second such arrest in the region within two days.

The detained suspect was part of a larger spy network that has come under scrutiny following the April 22 Pahalgam attacks. Officials revealed that a case has been registered against three individuals, including two employees of the Pakistani High Commission, in connection with the incident.

Among those arrested is Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, a travel vlogger with over three lakh subscribers. She was taken into custody in Hisar last Friday for her alleged links with a Pakistani officer, Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, based in Delhi. Malhotra reportedly traveled to Pakistan twice and is accused of exchanging sensitive information in return for financial incentives.

Malhotra was arrested alongside five others, including Guzala, a 32-year-old widow from Punjab, and Yameen Mohammad, who is said to have collaborated with Danish in financial transactions and visa arrangements. Another suspect, Devinder Singh Dhillon from Kaithal, Haryana, was reportedly recruited during a pilgrimage to Pakistan and later transmitted videos of the Patiala cantonment to his handlers.

Additionally, a 26-year-old man from Nuh, identified as Arman, was detained alongside Malhotra for allegedly sharing sensitive military information. Police recovered incriminating conversations, photos, and videos from his phone, reportedly sent to Pakistani numbers.

In a separate case on May 15, a 24-year-old man from Panipat, Haryana, identified as Nauman Ilahi from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly maintaining contact with an ISI-linked Pakistani agent. Ilahi, a factory security guard, is accused of supplying sensitive data to Pakistani operatives.

In another instance, Punjab Police arrested two men, Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih, on May 4 for allegedly leaking photographs and details of Army cantonment areas and air bases in Amritsar. The suspects reportedly communicated with Pakistani handlers to pass on this critical information.

Further adding to the string of arrests, a man named Shehzad from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, was detained on Saturday for his alleged ties to the ISI. Investigations revealed that Shehzad had made multiple trips to Pakistan and was involved in illegal cross-border trade.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police shared a critical update on their X handle, stating:

“In a significant counter-espionage operation, #Gurdaspur Police thwarts an attempt to compromise national security by apprehending two persons involved in leaking sensitive military information.

On 15th May 2025, credible intelligence inputs indicated that Sukhpreet Singh & Karanbir Singh were engaged in sharing classified details related to #OperationSindoor, including troop movements and key strategic locations in #Punjab, #HimachalPradesh, & #JammuAndKashmir - with #Pakistan’s intelligence agency, #ISI.

Acting swiftly, the police has arrested both suspects. Forensic examination of their mobile phones has confirmed the intelligence inputs. The police team has also recovered 3 mobile phones and 8 live cartridges (.30 bore) from their possession.

Preliminary findings establish that the accused were in direct contact with ISI handlers and had transmitted critical information concerning the Indian Armed Forces.

FIR has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at PS Dorangala. The investigation continues, and more disclosures are expected as the probe deepens.
