Shocker! Babulal Gaur touches woman inappropriately
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur, who had earlier stirred a hornet's nest after describing rape as a social crime, courted controversy yet again on Thursday as he was caught on camera inappropriately touching a woman as she was climbing on to a bus during an event here.
Gaur, who flagged off the 'low floor' buses in an event, was seen touching the woman's behind as she climbed on to a bus.
However, there seemed to be no immediate reaction to the incident as no one, including the woman, made any objections.
This is not the first time Gaur has courted controversy, as in 2013, the senior minister was seen enjoying a dance performance by skimpily clad women on a ferry in Goa.
Besides such incidents, Gaur has also made headlines through several sexist and controversial comments.
In January 2013, Gaur raised a furore over his statement that the 'foreign culture' of women wearing jeans and T-shirts, drinking liquor and dancing with other men was not good for India.
"Women in foreign countries wear jeans and T-shirts, dance with other men and even drink liquor, but that is their culture. It's good for them, but not for India, where only our traditions and culture are ok," Gaur had commented when asked about controversies over women's dress.
However the Bharatiya Janata Party had clearly distanced itself from Gaur's remark, saying the party does not endorse such comments.
Recently, while commenting on the Shani Shingnapur row, Gaur landed in a soup for saying that women can worship from home instead of entering the temple.
