Shiv Sena has passed a resolution that we 'will contest all elections alone': Sanjay Raut
After the meeting, which was a part of BJP’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan programme’, Shah had said that the meeting was “positive” and the two would contest “not only 2019 polls, but also 2024 polls together”.
Maharashtra: Not even 24 hours had passed to the 1 hour, 45 minute long meeting of Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Bharatiya Janta Party Chief Amit Shah at Thackeray’s Mumbai residence, post which Shah had asserted that the two would contest the forthcoming 2019 general elections together; that Sena MP Sanjay Raut declared that the party would contest the polls singe-handedly.
After the meeting, which was a part of BJP’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan programme’, Shah had said that the meeting was “positive” and the two would contest “not only 2019 polls, but also 2024 polls together”.
Speaking on the same, Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Thursday said “We know what the agenda of Amit Shah ji is but Shiv Sena has passed a resolution that we'll contest all upcoming elections on our own. There will be no change in that resolution”.
Raut also asserted that the two are going to meet again in a couple of days. In the recent past, differences have cropped up in the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra, where Sena has taken jibes at BJP, and has expressed its anger towards the party via its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’. The Wednesday meeting which had hinted at turning things around has now left several question marks after Raut’s statement. We know what the agenda of Amit Shah ji is but Shiv Sena has passed a resolution that we'll contest all upcoming elections on our own.
