Parakram Diwas 2023: Amit Shah To Unfurl Tricolor At Netaji Stadium In Port Blair Today
Home Minister Amit Shah reached Port Blair for his two-day visit. He will also be attending the programmes related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 126th birth anniversary during the visit.
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah landed in Port Blair on Sunday for his two-day visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands for celebrations of Parakram Diwas, he will also take stock of the development activities there. A public meeting on the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 126th birth anniversary has been scheduled during which Amit Shah will address the gathering.
Shah will be hoisting the national flag here, and will also deliver a public speech at Netaji Stadium – where Bose had unfurled the Tricolour on December 30, 1943. Back then, the stadium used to be known as Gymkhana Ground.

On the occasion of Parakram Diwas, Amit Shah took to Twitter and said that the entire country salutes Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's courage and struggle.
He said on Twitter, "With his unique leadership ability, Netaji organised the people and organized an armed movement for freedom by forming 'Azad Hind Fauj'. The whole country salutes his courage and struggle. Today, remembering Netaji on his 126th birth anniversary, I extend greetings to the countrymen on 'Parakram Diwas'. #NationSalutesNetaji."

Shah is also expected to visit the Cellular Jail, a place where many Indian freedom fighters had been incarcerated during India's long history of struggle for independence.
A meeting with the core committee of the island's BJP will follow the public functions, news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.
Amit Shah will be taking stock of various developmental initiatives in the archipelago.

President Droupadi Murmu through her official Twitter handle posted: "On Parakram Diwas, we pay homage to one of the greatest sons of Bharat Mata, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Netaji epitomises exceptional courage and patriotism. Under his leadership, millions joined the struggle for India's freedom. Indians will remain forever indebted to him."

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted: "I remember and bow down to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. He is such a great hero of the Indian freedom struggle who showed the height of bravery and bravery to free Mother India from slavery. Future generations of India will also continue to draw inspiration from Netaji."
