Rs 7 Lakh Stolen From Hyderabad Man At ATM Using Pepper Spray, 4 Held. Video Surfaces
According to authorities, during the July 3 robbery, the accused used pepper spray to rob the victim as he was depositing cash at an ATM.
Hyderabad Commissioner's Task Force and the Domalguda Police apprehended four suspects in the theft of Rs 7 lakhs from a customer at the Himayat Nagar Punjab National Bank ATM. According to authorities, during the July 3 robbery, the accused used pepper spray to rob the victim as he was depositing cash at an ATM, news agency ANI reported.
"On July 14, Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, along with the Domalguda Police apprehended four people involved in a Punjab National Bank ATM robbery on July 3. The accused plundered away Rs.7 lakh from the victim/complainant while he was depositing cash in PNB ATM. Rs.3.25 lakhs have been recovered from their possession, also seized one four-wheeler and one two-wheeler. Material used in the commission of the offence was also recovered," Commissioner’s Task Force said.

The police recovered Rs.3.25 lakhs in cash from their hands, as well as a vehicle, a motorbike, and other incriminating material used in the heist.
"Thansif Ali (24), Muhammed Sahad (26), Thanseeh Barikkal (23), Abdul Muhees (23), who hail from Kerala were apprehended and with cash of Rs 3.25 lakhs from their possession," officials were quoted by ANI in its report.
On Monday, Delhi Police announced the arrest of five members of a gang accused of stealing approximately Rs 15 lakh from an ATM in the Sarai Rohilla police station area. According to police, they were also able to retrieve Rs.14.90 lakhs stolen by the thieves, ANI reported.
The members of Azad's gang travelled in stolen SUVs with fake number plates and only disguised themselves while committing the thefts, as opposed to the majority of ATM thieves who tamper with CCTV cameras, remove digital video recorders or displace the ATM machines, according to deputy commissioner of police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi.
Police identified the suspects as Farman (27), a resident of Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh, Mohammad Dara (58), from Karawal Nagar, and Wasim (32) from Nand Nagri, as well as Imran (25) and Arman (20) from Usmanpur. They also claimed to have recovered 17 number plates from various vehicles, 15 screwdrivers, one toolbox, 10 pliers, one wire cutter, and a hammer from the suspects.
