Rajasthan Cabinet Approves 5 % Reservation For More Backward Classes In Judicial Service

An official statement by the state government stated that the more backward classes in Rajasthan can now get five per cent reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Services instead of the one per cent earlier.

Rajasthan state cabinet on Sunday approved the amendment in Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010. As per the latest amendments brought in the rules on the initiative by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, candidates from the most backward class (MBC), including Gurjars, to now get more reservation in Rajasthan Judicial Services. Candidates belonging to the more backward classes have been demanding amendment in the judicial service rules for a long time. They had been demanding to get five per cent reservation in the state judicial service. The more backward classes include Gurjars, Raika-Rabari, Gadiya-Lohars, Banjara and Gadariya. The progressive decision from the Gehlot government has come at the time when the central government earlier this week unveiled the New Education Policy 2020 with a view to overhaul the education system and more focused on testing actual knowledge instead of crammed learning. These major changes will redefine the education system in India by bringing it on par with the international standard as well. The new policy has been unveiled after a gap of 34 years with the last one released in 1986 and was partially altered in 1992. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar stressed on how it will benefit the students by ensuring lesser dropouts and increase the opportunity for students besides refuting the allegations that it will impose regional language in the education system.
