Presumed Dead, UP Man Found To Be Alive After Being Inside Morgue Freezer For Six Hours
After the post mortem, the man’s body was kept in the morgue freezer for six hours till his family arrived. There was a sudden turn of events when he was found breathing.
New Delhi: Srikesh Kumar, 45, was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a motorbike in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. He was then moved to a private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. After being declared dead he was taken to a government hospital for post mortem on Friday, as reported by AFP.
The hospital’s medical superintendent, Rajendra Kumar informed, “The emergency medical officer examined him. He did not find any signs of life and hence declared him dead," Rajendra Kumar.”
After the post mortem, the doctor informed the police and the man’s body was kept in the morgue freezer for six hours till his family arrived. There was a sudden turn of events when he was found breathing. "When a police team and his family came over to initiate the paperwork for the autopsy, he was found alive,” said the doctor.
As reported by IANS, Srikesh’s sister-in-law, Madhubala noticed that he exhibited some signs of life.
Dr Shiv Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent of Moradabad said, "The emergency medical officer had seen the patient at 3 a.m and there was no heartbeat. He had examined the man multiple times. Thereafter, he was declared dead but, in the morning, a police team and his family found him alive. A probe has been ordered. Our priority is now to save his life."
The medical superintendent said that the man is still in a coma and was undergoing further treatment. “This is nothing short of a miracle,” added Rajesh.
An investigation has been started to know that on what grounds did the doctor mistakenly declare him dead.
