Poor Plus-Two results fallout: Education Secretary transferred

Patna:  A day after Bihar Board’s class 12 results were declared, where over 62% students failed in the exams, the state Government on Wednesday transferred education department secretary. This comes hours after poor results in examinations triggered student agitation in Patna on Wednesday. According to a notification of General Administration Department, education department secretary Jitendra Shrivastava has been made new Commissioner of Magadh division. The 1997 batch IAS officer R L Chongthu waiting for posting will take Shrivastava (2000 batch IAS) position in the education department, the notification said. In the limited reshuffle carried today, Jitendra Kumar Singh (2006 batch IAS) and who is Joint Secretary in Sugar Cane Industries has been given additional charge of Commissioner Sugar cane Industries. The Plus-Two examinees held violent protest today in Patna against the poor results.
