'Blood And Water Can’t Flow Together': PM Modi Says Talks With Pak Only On PoK, Terrorism

PM Modi said terror and trade cannot go together and added that "Paani aur Khoon ek sath nahi beh sakta" (Water and blood cannot flow separately).

If there is any talk with Pakistan, it will be on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during an address to the nation on Monday 48 hours after the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement.

PM Modi said terror and trade cannot go together and added that "Paani aur Khoon ek sath nahi beh sakta" (Water and blood cannot flow separately).

This is Prime Minister Modi's first reaction over Operation Sindoor, which India launched on May 7, two weeks after the terror attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reiterating his 'not era for war' message, the prime minister said "This is not the era of war, but not an era of terrorism either."

"We have defeated Pakistan every time on the battlefield and this time Operation Sindoor has added a new dimension... During this operation, the authenticity of our 'Made in India' weapons was proved...We all should remain united against all types of terrorism. Our unity is our biggest strength," he said.

Speaking on the ceasefire agreement, that was announced on May 10, PM Modi said, "In just the first three days, India inflicted such massive destruction on Pakistan that it caught them completely off guard. As a result of India's aggressive response, Pakistan began desperately seeking ways to de-escalate and appealed to the international community to reduce tensions. After being thoroughly defeated, the Pakistani military was compelled to contact our DGMO on the afternoon of May 10."
