PM Modi Lauds Rapper Hanumankind For Promoting Traditional Arts Globally With 'Run It Up'

PM Modi praised Kerala-born rapper Hanumankind for promoting Indian traditional culture through his latest song "Run It Up."

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Kerala-born rapper Sooraj Cherukat, known as Hanumankind, for promoting India’s traditional culture to the world through his latest song, 'Run It Up.

While speaking during the 120th episode of his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi expressed admiration for how Hanumankind is blending contemporary music with elements of Indian heritage.

He said, "Friends, our indigenous games are now becoming a part of popular culture. You all must be knowing the famous rapper Hanumankind. His new song 'Run It Up' is becoming quite famous these days. Our traditional Martial Arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka and Thang-Ta have been included in it."

He added, "I congratulate Hanumankind that due to his efforts people of the world are getting to know about our traditional Martial Arts."

Run It Up, which has been topping the Official Asian Music Chart for three consecutive weeks, follows Hanumankind's breakout hit Big Dawgs. This track gained significant attention, even briefly surpassing Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us on Spotify’s Top 50.

What Kerala BJP President Said?

Meanwhile, Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that PM Modi during his Mann Ki Baat programmes focused on unsung heroes who create an impact beyond politics and government.

The former union minister said, as reported by ANI, "Every Mann Ki Baat is centered around heroes that are nameless, faceless--heroes that are not known to the people of India, who are outside the government system, who are outside politics, but work hard to create an impact in their communities, in their families' lives, and in the larger lives of people around them."

He added, "Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji put forth examples, Joby Mathew, Hanumankind and many other examples of people who inspire us. For BJP and for people like me, every month this is a dose of inspiration, a dose of motivation that keeps us energized and keeps us committed to serving our country, transforming our nation, and taking our country forward."
