Addressing a gathering, PM Modi said the government's Digital India programme had given relief to poor from corruption and it was working to eliminate middlemen in all fields, PTI reported.

"Eight to 10 years ago, we had to stand in lines (queues) for everything. We had to stand in line for birth certificates, to pay bills, for ration, for admission, for exam results, for certificates, in banks. How many lines we used to stand in? India has eliminated all lines by going online," PM Modi said.

"Government's Digital India programme has given relief to poor from corruption and it is working for elimination of middlemen in all fields. India has eliminated all lines (queues)  by going online," PM Modi said.

PM Modi said India needs to adopt new technology with changing times. "If India does not adopt new technology with changing times, it will remain backward; country experienced this during third industrial revolution," PM Modi further said.

The Prime Minister launched multiple digital portals at the event, including a single sign-in portal Meri Pehchaan, a website IndiaStack.Global, MyScheme.

"Indiastack.global" is a global repository of key projects like Aadhaar, UPI, Digilocker, Cowin Vaccination Platform, Government e Marketplace (GeM), DIKSHA Platform and Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.

"MyScheme" is a service discovery platform facilitating access to government schemes. It aims to offer a one-stop search and discovery portal where users can find schemes that they are eligible for.
