New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a passenger, travelling on an Indigo flight from Nagpur to Mumbai, allegedly tried to remove the cover of the emergency exit while the aircraft was in the process of landing, as reported by news agency ANI. The crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was appropriately cautioned, Indigo said. The flight number was 6E-5274, news agency PTI reported.

"A passenger travelling on a flight Nagpur to Mumbai, allegedly tried to remove the cover of the emergency exit while the aircraft was in the air and on approach for landing. The crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was appropriately cautioned," IndiGo stated as quoted by ANI.

The airline authorities further said that there was no compromise on the safe operation of the said flight. An FIR has been filed against the passenger for unauthorised tampering with the emergency exit as the aircraft was in the process of landing. The airline, however, did not share other details.

In another incident, two weeks ago, a passenger in the Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Tamil Nadu's Madurai suffered a medical emergency during a flight onboard, causing a delay of at least 20 minutes. As the passengers informed the pilot about the passenger's deteriorating health, he diverted flight 6E-2088 to Indore Airport in Madhya Pradesh.

The flight took the diversion after one of its passengers onboard reportedly started to bleed profusely from his mouth, ANI reported. The Indore Air Traffic Controller (ATC) immediately asked the concerned authorities to make proper arrangements, but before the doctors could reach to examine him, he passed away.
