Pakistan has yet again violated the ceasefire on Monday night as their troops once again resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the fifth consecutive night of ceasefire violations.

According to the Indian Army, the latest incidents were reported from areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as the Akhnoor sector. "During the night of April 28-29, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the Line of Control in areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as the Akhnoor sector. The Indian Army responded in a measured and effective manner to the provocation," the Army said in an official statement.

These repeated violations come amid already heightened tensions following last week's terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians, including a Nepali citizen, were killed. The Indian government has announced a series of retaliatory measures, including suspending the 65-year-old Indus Waters Treaty, closing the Attari land-border crossing, and expelling Pakistani military attaches.

Continuous Ceasefire Violation By Pakistan

In response to India's actions, Islamabad has threatened to suspend all agreements with New Delhi, including the 1972 Simla Pact, which validates the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Officials reported no casualties so far despite multiple nights of cross-border firing. The Indian Army confirmed an earlier ceasefire violation during the night of April 27-28 in areas opposite Kupwara and Poonch districts, stating, "Indian troops responded swiftly and effectively."

PM Modi In ‘Mann Ki Baat’

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly "Mann Ki Baat" radio programme, reiterated his government's firm stance against terrorism, calling for the "harshest" response to the "perpetrators and conspirators". Modi emphasized that the terrorists aimed to disrupt Kashmir's return to peace and prosperity, but vowed a "decisive battle" against terrorism.

Meanwhile the India Armed Forces have demonstrated their readiness on all the fronts by carrying out multiple exercises. Moreover, in successive tests the DRDO has tested out the new scramjet engine for more than 1000 seconds. 

India Slams Pakistan At The UN

Also at the United Nations, India strongly criticized Pakistan after Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif openly admitted to the country's historical support for terrorism. In a recent interview, Asif said, "We have been doing this dirty work for the US for the past three decades, including the West and the UK."

India's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Yojna Patel described this statement as an "open confession" and underscored its significance on the global stage, noting, "This confession was not surprising, and it exposed Pakistan as a 'rogue state' that has been fuelling global terrorism."

She also, condemned Pakistan, calling it a "rogue state" and stated, "The whole world has heard the Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif admitting and confessing Pakistan's history of supporting, training and funding terrorist organisations in a recent television interview. The world can no longer turn a blind eye."
