Noted Indian Architect BV Doshi Passes Away At 95. PM Modi, CM Bhupendra Patel Pay Tribute

New Delhi: Noted Indian architect Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi passed away Wednesday after a prolonged illness, reported ABP Asmita. To his credit are designs of some of the famous buildings in the country including Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief on the passing away of the celebrated architect of the country.
“Dr. BV Doshi Ji was a brilliant architect and a remarkable institution builder. The coming generations will get glimpses of his greatness by admiring his rich work across India. His passing away is saddening. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also paid his tribute to the first Indian recipient of the Pritzker Prize, the nobel equivalent in the field of architecture.
“Condolences on the passing away of Pritzker Prize winner 'Padma Bhushan' Balakrishna Doshiji, a world-renowned architect who is the polar figure of the world of architecture. May God rest his soul and give strength to his relatives, countless fans and disciples to bear this shock,” Patel tweeted.
BV Doshi: Biography
Some of the notable works of Doshi included designing of FLAME University, Pune, IIM Udaipur, IIM Bangalore, NIFT Delhi, CEPT University Ahmedabad and the Aranya Low Cost Housing development in Indore which was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
He designed the Hussain-Doshi Cave in Ahmedabad commemorating his friendship with the great painter MF Hussain.
He was the recipient of several awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Royal Institute of British Architects Royal Gold Medal and the Pritzker Prize and was featured in Fortune Top-50 leaders.
