Govt Won't Hesitate To Teach A Lesson To Enemies Of J&K: PM Modi On Terror Attacks At Srinagar Event
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to begin his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir today. In preparation for the PM's visit, the traffic police have issued an advisory.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on June 20. He attended the "Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K" event in Srinagar. While addressing the gathering at the event, the Prime Minister reacted to the recent terror attacks that hit the valley. He assured that his government would not hesitate to "teach a lesson" to the "enemies of Jammu and Kashmir".
"The government has taken the recent terror attacks very seriously. I assure you that we will not hesitate to teach a lesson to the enemies of Jammu & Kashmir," PM Modi said.

"The people of Jammu and Kashmir elect their representatives at the local level, through them you find ways to solve problems, what can be better than this? Therefore, now the preparations for the Assembly elections have also started. The time is not far when you will elect the new government of Jammu and Kashmir with your votes. That day will also come soon when Jammu and Kashmir will once again make its future better as a state," he said.
Speaking at 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K', the Prime Minister said, "Today, 84 major developmental projects valued at more than Rs 1,500 crores were inaugurated here. Projects related to the agriculture sector worth Rs 1800 crore were inaugurated. New national highways and expressways are being constructed here. Every Indian feels proud when they see pictures of the world's highest bridge on the river Chenab".
"The whole world is witnessing the changes in Kashmir Valley...Humara Kashmir kitna aage badh gaya hai'...You will see that the International Yoga Day celebration will also become an attraction for tourists," he added.
PM Modi Distributes Govt Service Appointment Letters
PM Modi distributed government service appointment letters to the new recruits. During his stay in the Union Territory, he would lay the foundation stone for several developmental projects and participate in the 10th International Yoga Day event in Srinagar. In preparation for the PM's visit, the traffic police have issued an advisory.

Before leaving for Srinagar, PM Modi wrote on X, "Leaving for Srinagar, where I will be taking part in two programmes. Later this evening, I will be at the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ programme, which focuses on youth-led development. Key projects worth over Rs. 1500 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works cover infrastructure, water supply, education and more. Tomorrow morning, I will take part in the Yoga Day programme in Srinagar."

J&K Police Issues Traffic Advisory For PM Modi's Visit
The Police in its advisory said that the roads around Dal Lake have been closed for traffic until the afternoon of June 21. Traffic restrictions on Boulevard Road were in place from 3:00 PM on June 20 until 11:00 AM on June 21.
The police advised the public to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. PM Modi's meetings and Yoga Day events are scheduled for the morning of June 21 at the SKICC located on Dal Lake.
Key Takeaways From The Traffic Advisory
To prevent congestion during the VVIP visit on June 20 and 21, the following route plan was issued:
Traffic on Boulevard Road from Gole Chakri R.M.Bagh, Nehru Park up to Kralsangri was restricted from 3:00 PM on June 20 until 11:00 AM on June 21.
Motorists travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan are advised to use the alternate route from Dalgate, Rainawari, Hazratbal instead of Boulevard Road.
Traffic assistance points were set up at Badyari, Nehru Park, Gupkar, Kralsangri, and Nishat for smooth movement.
Motorists traveling from Harwan-Shalimar-Nishat and Adjacent areas to Lal Chowk are advised to use the Forsehore-Hazratbal route.
Traffic assistance points were placed at Shalimar, Nishat, Kralsangri, Habbak Crossing, Duck Park, and Habbak Crossing for smooth travel to Lal Chowk.
Tourists visiting the Mughal Gardens and other destinations are advised to follow the traffic advisory.
Locals and tourists from Nehru Park are directed to use Gahribal, and Buchwara Raod, and exit via Dalgate. A one-way route is to be followed from the UNO office, CD Hospital to Nehru Park.
Motorists from Gulab Bagh-Zakoora-Naseembagh-Habbak and adjacent areas are advised to use the Habbak-Dargarh-Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk.
Vehicles are to be parked in designated areas only, with wrongly parked vehicles towed.
For assistance, citizens are directed to contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103. Emergencies are allowed the shortest route.
PM Modi's visit followed a security operation in Baramulla district on Wednesday, where two terrorists were killed. On Thursday, PM Modi arrived in Jammu and Kashmir.
