PM Modi In J&K Today To Participate In International Yoga Day, Launch Projects. Full Schedule
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 10th International Yoga Day celebration in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday for a two-day visit, his first after securing a third term in office. Here, the Prime Minister will participate in the International Yoga Day event in Srinagar besides launching developmental projects.
On June 20, Thursday, Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 84 major developmental projects valued at more than Rs 1,500 crore during the “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” event.
Projects related to road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and infrastructure in higher education will be inaugurated during the event scheduled to be held at 6 pm on Thursday. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for projects like the improvement of the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri Section, the development of Industrial Estates and the construction of six government degree colleges.

He will also launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture & Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project worth Rs. 1,800 crore and distribute appointment letters to more than 2000 persons appointed in government service.
On June 21, Friday, Modi will lead the International Yoga Day celebrations at SKICC, Srinagar in the event's 10th year.
This year's event underscores Yoga's profound impact on young minds and bodies. The celebration aims to unite thousands in the practice of Yoga, promoting health and wellness on a global scale, said the Prime Minister's Office in a statement.

Since 2015, the PM has been participating in the International Yoga Day events at various places including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru and the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The theme for this year's IYD celebrations is “Yoga for Self and Society” highlighting the dual role in fostering individual and societal well-being.
