ED Uncovers 'Large-Scale' Scam
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uncovered a large-scale scam in the allotment of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites, involving violations of government statutes, orders, and guidelines, along with other fraudulent means, it said. The central agency reported that former MUDA commissioners, including GT Dinesh Kumar, played a key role in illegally allotting compensation sites to ineligible individuals and entities.
According to the ED, the probe has yielded evidence of bribe transactions, made in various forms, including cash, bank transfers, and movable and immovable properties.
"The gratification received for making these illegal allotments was routed through a co-operative society and bank accounts of relatives/associates of the officers playing key role in the allotment process. The gratification thus received was further used to purchase some of these illegally allotted MUDA sites in the name of relatives of MUDA officers," the ED said, as per a report on PTI.
