The allegations came from a written complaint filed by a contractual female employee in Raj Bhavan with the Kolkata Police. She claimed to have been subjected to molestation by Bose within the governor's residence on April 24 and May 2.
On the allegation, last week West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Friday lashed out at the BJP over the molestation charges against state Governor CV Ananda Bose, stating that before talking about Sandeshkhali, the BJP must answer why the West Bengal Governor did this to a woman working at Raj Bhavan.
Governor's Intention To Showcase The Footage
In response to these allegations, Bose had announced his intention to showcase the footage to the public, excluding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the police under her administration.
The footage, spanning over an hour, depicted the woman, dressed in blue jeans and a top, making her way to the police outpost amidst heavy police presence due to the scheduled visit of PM Narendra Modi on May 2. Modi had stayed overnight at Raj Bhavan before addressing political rallies in West Bengal lined up for May 3.
A Raj Bhavan official outlined, "At least 92 people mailed or called us up, expressing their willingness to see the CCTV footage. However, only a few turned up. The intention was to let people judge the incident." one attendee, identified as Professor Tushar Kanti Mukherjee, reported that he observed the footage and found no irregularities in the woman's behavior.
