Mandsaur rape case: The horrific incident has sparked rage among the masses. On Friday, June 29, the people took to streets and protested against the incident demanding death penalty to the accused.

New Delhi: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man who abducted her from outside her school in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur on Tuesday. She was waiting for her father outside her school in Hafiz Colony when accused named Imran alias Bhaiyyu abducted on her way home from school on the pretext of getting sweets for the kid. The rapist attempted to slash the throat of the victim after raping her. The Madhya Pradesh Police on Friday arrested one more person in connection with the alleged abduction and sexual assault of the girl. Asif (24) was held from Madarpura locality of the city, after Irfan alias Bhaiyu (20), arrested on Wednesday night, named him as his accomplice in the heinous crime, as per the report. On Friday, June 29, the people took to streets after the news of rape surfaced and protested against the incident demanding death penalty to the accused. In the wake of the huge protests held by people from place to place in the state, the heavy police force has been deployed in the capital Bhopal and Mandsaur. When and where the incident happened A seven-year-old girl child was abducted and then raped by a man on June 26, Tuesday. When her family members failed to find her at the school and neighbouring areas, they approached the police late that evening. As per reports, the rapist allegedly abducted the child from school on the pretext of getting sweets and sexually assaulted the girl. He attempted to slash the throat of the victim after raping her. Scars of assault and scratch marks have been found all over the body of the child. The rapist had left the girl in a half-death condition thinking that she was dead. She somehow escaped and reached Lakshman Darwaza, from where locals took her to hospital. Also Watch: CCTV footage The accused was tracked using footage retrieved from a CCTV camera located between the girl’s school and the spot where she was found later on Wednesday afternoon. The child had gone missing from her school in Hafiz Colony on Tuesday. On being arrested by the police, the accused reportedly admitted that it was him who perpetrated the crime. BJP leader's shameful statement on meeting victim's kin While in a shocking incident, a BJP leader from Madhya Pradesh asked the parents of a minor rape victim to express gratitude to the local MP for visiting them. Sudarshan Gupta, a legislator of the BJP, was caught on camera in Indore's MY Hospital, asking the victim's kin to thank his party MP Sudhir Gupta for visiting them at the hospital to inquire about the minor girl's condition. "Say thank you to the MP (Sudhir Gupta). he has travelled only to meet you (Sansad ji ko dhanyavad boliye, special aapke liye aaye hain)," the legislator said. Immediately, the parents of the victim were seen nodding and folding their hands before Sudhir. Watch Video: Anger among the people The outraged parents took to streets after the incident, staging a widespread demonstration. As the accused belonged to the Muslim community, the angered women of the Muslim community have demanded capital punishment for the accused and have said that he won’t be given space for burial in the cremation ground. Also Watch: Chief Minister's reaction Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan strongly condemned the incident and called for stringent action against the Mandsaur rape accused and said he should be hanged till death. Speaking to media, Chouhan said the 'beasts' committing such heinous crime are a "burden on the earth" and do not deserve to live. Health condition of the child After the incident, she was rushed to Mandsaur district hospital, where she was given initial treatment. She was then taken to Indore and her medical examination confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted, as per the report. On June 27, the victim is later underwent treatment at the state-run MY Hospital in Indore with the chief of its Paediatric Surgery department, where it was told that she was out of danger. While speaking to the media on Friday, CM told about the victim's health condition and said it is improving. The case should be heard in the court soon and the accused should be hanged till death for the heinous crime he committed, Chouhan added. (With inputs from agencies)
