Maharashtra Govt Extends Lockdown Till August 31: Malls To Open With Conditions | Full Details
Malls and market complexes will be allowed to be operational from 9 am to 7 pm from August 5. However, theatres, food courts and restaurants hall remain shut.
Mumbai: Government of Maharashtra on Wednesday issued directions to extend the lockdown, with amendments, to operationalize 'Mission Begin Again' for easing of restrictions and phase-wise opening, till 31 August, 2020. An official notice issued by Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday said the decision has been taken as an "emergency step to prevent and contain" the spread of COVID-19 virus.
As per the updated list of restrictions and relaxations in terms of commercial activities, the state government in the notice stated that in Municipal Corporations of Mumbai Metropolitan Area including Greater Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Aurangabad, Malegaon, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur, malls and market complexes will be allowed to be operational from 9 am to 7 pm from August 5.
Theaters, food courts and restaurants hall remain shut. However, kitchen of restaurants and food courts will be allowed to operate in Malls wherein only home delivery through aggregators will be allowed. A slight breather for sportsperson as outdoor non-team sports like Golf courses, outdoor firing range, outdoor gymnastics, tennis, outdoor badminton and malkhamb will be allowed with physical distancing and sanitation measures from 5 August, however swimming pools will remain closed. Maharashtra has continued to be the worst effected state till now with crossing four lakh-mark today. As per the latest inputs from the state health department, Mharashtra recorded 9,211 new Coronavirus infected patients, pushing the tally to 4,00,651. The death toll of the state went p to 14,463 with 298 patients succumbing due to the dealy COVID-19 disease. Health minister Rajesh Tope in the daily bulletin told that 7,478 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 2,39,755.
