After Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot's Proposal, Governor Kalraj Mishra Calls For Assembly Session From August 14

Earlier today, governor Kalraj Mishra again returned the proposal saying that the Gehlot cabinet refused to answer why it wanted a session at short notice.

Jaipur: Hours after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot proposal to convene Assembly session from August 14, Governor Kalraj Mishra on Wednesday evening agreed and called for the same. As per reports, the Governor, in his order, also directed that all measures should be taken during the conduct of Assembly Session, as per the guidelines issued to prevent spread of #COVID19. In deference to Governor Kalraj Mishra's 21-day notice period condition for holding an assembly session, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, earlier in the day, sent a fresh proposal to hold the session from August 14. ALSO READ | Rajasthan: Premises Of CM Ashok Gehlot's Brother Raided By ED; Know What Is The Alleged Fertiliser Scam The first proposal for holding such session was sent on July 23, followed by another one on Sunday July 26 in which Gehlot requested Mishra to start the state assembly session on July 31 to discuss Coronavirus pandemic, not the 'floor test'. Responding to Gehlot's appeal, Governor agreed but put up three conditions: 21-day notice period before convening session, maintaining social distancing norms and certain conditions to be followed, in case confidence motion is moved. Earlier today, governor again returned the proposal saying that the Gehlot cabinet refused to answer why it wanted a session at short notice. According to the reports, Mishra asked the Gehlot to state reason for calling a session at short notice and that it could call a regular Session after giving a 21-day notice.
