The first proposal for holding such session was sent on July 23, followed by another one on Sunday July 26 in which Gehlot requested Mishra to start the state assembly session on July 31 to discuss Coronavirus pandemic, not the 'floor test'.
Responding to Gehlot's appeal, Governor agreed but put up three conditions: 21-day notice period before convening session, maintaining social distancing norms and certain conditions to be followed, in case confidence motion is moved.
Earlier today, governor again returned the proposal saying that the Gehlot cabinet refused to answer why it wanted a session at short notice.
According to the reports, Mishra asked the Gehlot to state reason for calling a session at short notice and that it could call a regular Session after giving a 21-day notice.
