J&K: 4 policemen killed in terror attack in Shopian

In this incident four cops sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to nearby hospital for medical treatment. However, all the four injured policemen succumbed to bullet injuries.

Srinagar: Four policemen were killed in a major terror attack on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, reports said. Reports say terrorists this afternoon fired indiscriminately upon a police party at Arhama in district Shopian. According to a news agency IANS report, police said the militants fired at the escort party of a senior police officer in Arhama village, about 2 km from Shopian town. The militants decamped with three service rifles of the slain policemen. In this incident four cops sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to nearby hospital for medical treatment. However, all the four injured policemen succumbed to bullet injuries. The martyred policemen were identified as Constable Ishfaq Ahmad Mir, Constable Javaid Ahmad Bhat, Constable Mohammad Iqbal Mir and SPO Adil Manzoor Bhat. Police has registered a case and initiated investigations in the instant are on.
